A1 Part 1 - Discovery with Edito

Two classes of 2 hours a week

Are you a complete beginner? This level is for you!
(for once-a-week classes, Part A is a prerequisite for Part B).

In this class, students will learn the basics in French:

  • Spell and count;
  • Introduce themself (greet, name, age, nationality)
  • Give and ask for personal information (name, address, dob, email, phone #);
  • Express their likes and dislikes;
  • Name, ask, and give their place of residence;
  • Talk about their family.


Prerequisite: no prior knowledge of French whatsoever (for once-a-week classes, Part 1A is a prerequisite for Part 1B).

Textbooks: EDITO A1, Unit 0, unit 1 + unit 2.
NEW STUDENTS: For online classes: books to be picked up in our premises (no delivery). For in-person classes: the teacher will give the books on the first day of class.

  • Understand a menu in a restaurant, order;
  • Shop for groceries;
  • Give an appreciation;
  • Present and describe a city, a neighborhood;
  • Talk about public transportation;
  • Ask for and give directions;

  • Talk about past trips.

Conversation B1 - Independent

One class of 2 hours a week

In this course, students will practice and improve their ability to give an opinion: to present, convince, compare ideas, justify opinions, introduce a topic, express themselves clearly, and give examples to support what they say.

  • Express and justify opinions
    Give personal viewpoints and explain reasons in familiar topics.
  • Participate actively in discussions
    React, agree/disagree politely, and keep conversations going.
  • Narrate experiences and events
    Tell stories, describe problems, and explain situations in sequence.
  • Manage everyday and professional interactions
    Handle travel, work, study, and social communication with growing confidence.

Our conversation lessons help students build their communication skills step by step, with regular speaking practice.

Prerequisite: B1 part 3 and up, or Level assessment (required for new students)

B2 Part 4B - Advanced with Edito

One class of 2 hours a week

In this sublevel, students will learn how to:

  • Introduce formally a subject;
  • Give their point of view (3);
  • Write an open letter;
  • Express their feelings (3);
  • Respond formally to a proposal.

Prerequisite: B2 part 3 or Level Assessment.

Conversation B2 - Advanced

One class of 2 hours a week

In this course, students will strengthen their ability to express complex ideas, take part in in-depth discussions, and speak fluently and spontaneously in a variety of situations.

  • Develop and defend ideas
    Present arguments, support opinions, and discuss advantages/disadvantages.
  • Interact spontaneously and fluently
    Maintain natural conversations with minimal hesitation.
  • Adapt language to context and audience
    Use appropriate register, tone, and conversational strategies.
  • Discuss abstract and complex topics
    Debate social, cultural, professional, or current issues in depth.

They will practice presenting arguments, exploring topics, expressing opinions, and discussing the pros and cons of different viewpoints, all while refining their vocabulary and structure.

Our conversation lessons help students gain confidence and precision in their spoken French.
