The Alliance Française is a worldwide organization based in Paris, and is dedicated to promoting French. Alliance teachers are well qualified and our textbook (including workbook and CD-ROM) includes practice for the DELF exams. DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) sets the official standards in French language competency for non-French speakers. The DELF standards are recognized around the world.
Instruction is provided in one of two fashions:
• Group classes at different skill levels for both adults and children are offered to the general public
• Private instruction is tailored to individuals, groups and businesses directly
We offer general French classes from beginner to advanced levels. The general French classes will allow you to develop all five skills :
speaking, interacting, listening, reading and writing, and will provide you a wealth of intercultural insight.
EVALUATION
Being in the right class at the right level in any learning situation allows the learner to follow more closely and to retain more
material. This is a challenge for all learners and educators, but it is not a task that a learner can do on his or her own. While there are
no guarantees, we work with our potential learners to improve the odds. If you are contemplating a first-time class in one of our community
centre locations, we will interview you and we will recommend which level is right for you.
To start the process of determining your skill level, please contact our Director of Education at courses@afvictoria.ca, who will give you a
call to conduct an interview and will make a recommendation. You will then be better prepared to register in the course that is best suited
for your need
